Fit Kids / Day Camp Coordinator

Status: Full-Time - Hourly
Reports to: Family Sports Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

With guidance from the Youth Director and Family Sports Director, the Fit Kid/Day Camp Coordinator is responsible for and administers all programming related to the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA Fit Kid/Day Camp youth programs.
Educational Background: Minimum of high school diploma; preferred Associates Degree in early child, education or related fields.

Preferred skills and experience:
 CPR, AED, and First aid trainer certification.
 Knowledge of variety of camp related activities.
 Management and organizational skills.
 Leadership and communication skills with people of all ages.
 Basic computer knowledge.

Floor Monitor

The Marshalltown Y is seeking a dependable team player that will maintain a close and highly responsive relationships to the day-to day activities of the Y on evenings and weekends.  The Floor Monitor is responsible for ensuring that the building is kept clean and rules are maintained throughout a 3-4 hour shift 2-3 days a week (4-7 p.m. and/or 7-10 p.m.) and at least 2 weekend shifts a month.  For more information, contact Nicki Reynolds at nicki.reynolds@ymca-ywca.org.

Assistant Aquatics Director

Status: Full-Time - Hourly
Reports to: Aquatics Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Assistant Aquatics Director at the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined while also managing high-quality, member-focused aquatics and fitness programs. Will serve to integrate the two departments together. This full time position will encompass assisting in areas of aquatic. Assist in the day to day operations of the Aquatic department. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Aquatic Director on a daily basis to promote successful operations of the aquatic programs.  The assistant Aquatic Director will provide leadership for the accomplishment of the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA missions and character values with the aquatic department.

Lifeguard

The Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA is now accepting applications for lifeguards. Qualified applicants need to possess current Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, AED, CPR-Pro, and First Aid. Will pay for training.  Lifeguard pay varies with experience.  Applications are available online or at the Service Desk.

Immediate part-time day positions available between 5:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Group Exercise Instructor

Leverage your passion for fitness to be an integral part of improving the health and well-being of our community.  Group exercise at the Y provides exercise classes to persons of a variety of ages and ability levels at various times of day throughout the week and weekend.  Currently accepting all group exercise applications.  Please contact Keisha Lockhart at keisha.lockhart@ymca-ywca.org or 641752.8658 for more information.

Aquatics Instructor

Must be certified in CPR, AED and First Aid.  Certification may be acquired after hire.  Must have prior experience.

Positions Needed: 
-Swim Lesson Instructor

Provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes.  Instructs in beginning to advanced swimming and safety skills according to age group and class swim level. Provides a quality experience to students and parents.  Represents the Y and self in a professional manner of safety and fun.

-Water Exercise Instructor
Responsible for conducting water fitness classes. Provides a quality experience to participants.  Represents the Y and self in a professional manner of safety and fun.

Day Camp / Fit Kids Staff

Directly responsible to the Fit Kids/Day Camp Coordinator.

With guidance from the Fit Kids/Day Camp Coordinator, the Counselor is responsible for the supervision and engagement of Fit Kid/Day Camp participants and parents.

Minimum age requirement is 16 for Fit Kids program and 17 for Summer Day Camp.

Preschool Full-time & Part-time

Y Preschool is hiring a full-time Teacher's Assistant for our 3-year-old classroom.  Must be 18 years or older.

Y Preschool is also hiring part-time staff for mornings and afternoons.  Preschool staff is responsible for planning and implementing a program to teach young children.  The staff must provide a safe and developmentally appropriate preschool program in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
